Brand Spotlight
Gath
Rick Gath is the pioneer of the surf helmet. Since founding Gath Helmets in Australia in 1989, the brand has set new standards and has become a global industry leader. Professional athletes across all disciplines, as well as recreational riders and surf-rescue teams, choose Gath for its innovation, comfort, and protection. Key features include low weight, an exceptional fit, and fast-drying performance.
GET A HEAD – GET A GATH.
More and more watersports
athletes are turning to helmets — and the trend is unmistakable. Driven
by a growing awareness of safety and performance, nearly all watersports
disciplines are seeing steadily rising demand. In the youth and young
adult segment, helmet adoption already reaches an impressive 90%,
according to studies. Industry developments are also accelerating this
shift: Olympic surfing, new foiling disciplines, and the rise of wave
pools are shaping a new safety mindset across the entire scene — from
first-time beginners to ambitious riders.
Gath currently offers four watersports helmet models:
Gath SFC – Best Seller & Family Favorite.
The
perfect all-rounder for every discipline, featuring removable ear
protectors — ideal for switching between maximum hearing, comfort, and
protection depending on the conditions.
Gath Gedi – The Pro’s Choice.
The
high-end model delivering maximum impact protection, with optional
visors/shields and full adjustability — ideal for demanding use cases
such as foiling, jet skiing, rescue operations, or intensive
windsurfing.
Gath NEO – Lightweight Classic.
The
world’s first surf helmet, introduced in 1989. Ultra-light with a
neoprene headband, offering a snug, comfortable fit and a watertight
forehead seal to reduce spray over the eyes.
Gath EVA – Protection Meets Comfort.
Combining
features of the original NEO Hat and the advanced SFC, it offers
exceptional comfort and added forehead protection thanks to its new EVA
front band.
What if one helmet could truly do it all?
Today
the RGM sets new benchmarks in multi-sport protection. The RGM began in
the skatepark, built with a lightweight polycarbonate shell, EPS foam,
precise adjustment, and GATH’s signature comfort. Riders felt the
difference immediately — secure, well-ventilated, and engineered for
serious impact situations.
Now the RGM enters a new chapter:
It
is dual-certified for both concrete and water sports, making it one of
the most versatile helmets on the market. With EN1385 water sports
certification, the RGM now protects athletes in kayaking, rafting, surf
rescue, wakeboarding, and any form of high-speed water action.
